He is principal inventor of the Overall Nutritional Quality Index utilized in the NuVal ™ nutrition guidance program currently offered in over 500 supermarkets throughout the United States. Along with his wife Catherine, Katz developed the Nutrition Detectives and ABC for Fitness health promotion programs, both active in hundreds if not thousands of schools in the U.S., and abroad.
The faculty of B Healthy U is comprised of three highly recognized and distinguished individuals who together provide a wealth of knowledge, experience and specialized information in the form of daily tips and FAQs (frequently asked questions). The application is absolutely full of useful insight to help you become a better you.
Dr. David Katz
Dr. David Katz, MD, MPH FACPM, FACP, is director of the Yale University Prevention Research Center. He is an internationally recognized expert in nutrition, weight management and the prevention of chronic disease. His speciality is practical, real-world tips that can help the user feel better, live longer and control his or her weight. Because the tips in this application encompass the latest scientific research on such things as hunger and satiety, many of the tips are likely to be new to you.
Mitzi Perdue
Mitzi Perdue holds a BA Degree from Harvard University and an MPA from George Washington University. She’s a Trustee of the National Health Museum, and Founder of Healthy U of Delmarva, a 9000-member organization which encourages healthy lifestyles through awards for outstanding workplace wellness programs. In 2005 she received the coveted Women’s Day Award for Women Who Inspire Us for her work in helping thousands of people develop healthier lifestyles.
As founder of Healthy U, she’s talked with literally thousands of men and women about their efforts to have healthier lifestyles. In the B Healthy U mobile applications, she’s drawn on the knowledge and understanding that came from this to help you in your quest for a healthier lifestyle. She is the author of more than 1600 newspaper and magazine articles on food, nutrition, agriculture, and the environment, and has hosted and produced more than 400 half hour TV interview shows.
Joe Decker
Joe Decker is the winner of the Reader’s Choice “Best Fitness Trainer” for 2009. He is recognized as “The World’s Fittest Man” after breaking the Guinness World Records ® 24-Hour Physical Fitness Challenge in 2000.
